Job Summary
The University of Houston-Downtown is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to serve as a Career Center Assistant in the M Davies College of Business. This role will provide administrative support to the Career Center, interact with university personnel, students, and the general population, and perform various tasks to support student-centered events.
Key Responsibilities
- Interact with all levels of university personnel, students, and the general population to provide excellent customer service.
- Run errands between university buildings to facilitate communication and collaboration.
- Perform administrative duties such as answering phones, faxing, scanning, and copying documents to maintain a smooth operation.
- Maintain and file confidential student records in accordance with university policies and procedures.
- Maintain Student Organization records to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
- Support student-centered events by assisting with planning, coordination, and execution.
- Create and post relevant content to the college's social media channels to engage with students and promote career development opportunities.
- Reach out to students and faculty to incorporate their stories and experiences into marketing content for social media.
- Re-post relevant content from the University and other related channels to maintain a strong online presence.
- Maintain an organized calendar of content with a productive rhythm of posting to ensure consistent engagement.
- Assist in creating a monthly summary of all content posted in the previous month to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Career Center team to support the mission and goals of the University of Houston-Downtown.
Qualifications
- Must be a current University of Houston-Downtown student.
