Job Description:

Baker Tilly Advisory Group, LP is seeking a highly skilled State and Local Tax Senior Manager to join our growing State and Local Tax (SALT) practice. As a member of our team, you will provide expert guidance to clients on state and local tax matters, ensuring compliance and optimizing tax strategies.

Responsibilities:
  • Research and analyze state tax issues, including nexus determinations and high-level taxability analyses.
  • Assist in reviewing and analyzing the state and local tax aspects of acquisition and merger agreements.
  • Identify and analyze state and local tax risks and opportunities, advising clients on alternative strategies for acquisition, disposition, and restructuring of businesses.
  • Review and assess state and local tax computations reflected in clients' financial models, and assist in the quantitative and qualitative analysis of tax data in financial projections.
  • Conduct due diligence for buy-side and sell-side transactions, and assist with addressing issues and questions for internal clients and potential prospects.
  • Communicate with key stakeholders throughout the transaction, and assist with quantification of potential liabilities and voluntary disclosure projects.
  • Manage a team of associates and senior associates on engagements, ensuring developmental skills and client profitability targets are met.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master's or advanced degree preferred.
  • CPA, CMI, or JD/LLM required.
  • Eight (8) + years of experience in state and local tax, with professional services firm experience preferred.
  • Five (5) + years of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates desired.
