About the Position

The Telemetry Nurse carries out patient assignments and assumes primary care responsibilities that promote health, prevent illness, restore health, and ease suffering for patients released from intensive care, but still require close monitoring for signs of physical distress or danger.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize sophisticated medical equipment to monitor the vital signs of patients in the telemetry unit.
  • Work with physicians to develop treatment plans for patients in the telemetry unit.
  • Monitor and track patient information, taking quick action to treat patients who develop problems.
  • Provide primary care to patients recovering from heart conditions or cardiac surgery.

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Color Vision.
  • Pass a mandatory exam.
  • Meet core requirements for Part I, Part II (Nursing), and Part III.
  • Have experience in Medical Surgical-Telemetry and Preventing Medication Errors.
  • Knowledge of RN Pharmacology.
