Job Summary

The Vendor Relations Specialist is a key member of the Alliance team, responsible for managing vendor relationships and ensuring the efficient execution of vendor contracts. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and track vendor performance, including mail vendor performance and value-added services contract administration.
  • Develop and maintain new and potential vendor relationships that align with Alliance's values and meet state requirements.
  • Process and track value-added services (VAS) requests, including reviewing eligibility, documenting approval or denial, submitting orders to vendors, tracking orders, reporting completion, and reconciling invoices.
  • Assist the Vendor Relations Manager in tracking vendor performance, producing summaries for the Delegation Oversight Committee and Department Heads, and reviewing reports to ensure accuracy and avoid state penalties.
  • Provide data management and reporting support, including pulling data from MicroStrategy and VAS fulfillment systems to provide reports on utilization, timely completion of mailings and orders, and data needed to reconcile vendor invoices.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of related experience.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Healthcare, or related field and 3 years of related experience.
  • Strong attention to detail, professional judgment, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of purchasing and procurement, mailing services, database entry and maintenance, account maintenance, and office administration techniques.
  • Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
  • Customer service skills and ability to develop and maintain vendor relationships.
