Job SummaryTalent Corps is seeking a skilled Substation Electrician to join our team for a project in a major metropolitan area. This role involves maintaining, constructing, and retrofitting electric substation equipment as part of a dedicated crew. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Substation Work:
    • Install, maintain, and repair high-voltage substations, including transformers, circuit breakers, and switches.
    • Perform routine inspections of substation equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards.
    • Troubleshoot and repair control systems, including protective relays and switchgear.
    • Perform testing and commissioning of electrical equipment within substations.
    • Handle emergency repairs and assist in the restoration of power after outages.
  2. Time Switches:
    • Install and program time switches to control lighting, HVAC, or other electrical circuits.
    • Troubleshoot malfunctions in time switch systems and replace faulty components.
    • Adjust settings for energy efficiency or user needs.
  3. Bus Welding:
    • Perform welding on busbars, connecting conductors in electrical substations.
    • Fabricate and repair bus structures used to carry electrical current within the substation.
    • Follow strict welding protocols to ensure high-voltage systems remain safe and reliable.
    • Inspect and maintain bus welds to avoid potential failures.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in substation work.
  • Ability to build and retrofit substations.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Reliable and detail-oriented with strong teamwork skills.

Additional Information:

  • Background Check: 7-year background check required.
  • Drug Screen: 10-panel drug screen required.
