Position Overview: The role of a janitor involves the thorough cleaning and upkeep of facilities. Responsibilities encompass a range of tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, window cleaning, waste disposal, and inventory management of cleaning supplies. In addition to these essential duties, janitors may also handle minor repairs, painting, and outdoor maintenance. Attention to detail is crucial, as the janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and functionality throughout the premises.
Reporting Structure: This position reports directly to the Property Manager.
Employment Type: Full-Time/Non-Exempt
Key Responsibilities:
- Clear pathways of debris, leaves, and grass clippings.
- Collect and dispose of litter and trash, including maintaining dumpster areas.
- Transport, set up, and dismantle various equipment and furniture.
- Manage inventory for cleaning materials and sanitary supplies.
- Assist maintenance personnel with collaborative tasks.
- Ensure cleanliness of common areas including marble, tile, and carpets.
- Maintain logs and documentation of cleaning activities.
- Sanitize and maintain pool decks, spas, and restrooms.
- Replace burnt-out light bulbs and ensure lighting is functional.
- Adhere to safety regulations and protocols.
- Continuously enhance professional knowledge and skills.
- Support additional tasks as assigned.
- Minimum of one year of janitorial or related experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions, both oral and written.
- Effective communication skills with colleagues and the public.
- Physical stamina to walk, stand, and kneel for extended periods.
Moderate travel may be required, necessitating reliable transportation. Travel obligations may vary.
Physical Demands:
