Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join our team at the University of Maryland campus store. As a key member of our retail team, you will provide exceptional customer service, support store operations, and contribute to a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, handling cash, credit, and financial aid payments.
  • Provide a welcoming atmosphere by greeting customers and ensuring their positive experience throughout their visit.
  • Take initiative to support store operations, including operating equipment and cash registers, to ensure speed of service and accurate transactions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including shelving, arranging, and cleaning products or space.
  • Temporary positions require flexibility in scheduling, including occasional weekends and varying shifts.
Physical Demands
  • Frequent movement within the store to access various departments, areas, and/or products.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Frequent lifting.
  • Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.

Qualifications
  • Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age to be considered for temporary employment.
  • Confident and comfortable engaging customers to deliver an elevated experience.
  • An outstanding attitude with the willingness to learn and the capability to excel in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Basic math, keyboarding, and data entry skills.
  • Flexible availability throughout the academic year, including peak periods.
