Radiologic Technologist: Mammography Specialist

As a Radiologic Technologist: Mammography Specialist at Northwell Health, you will be responsible for operating mammography radiographic equipment to perform diagnostic and screening imaging exams. You will also perform various diagnostic x-ray exams, as required. Your responsibilities will include communicating with Radiologists to confirm required exam details and ensuring optimal quality of images. You will review and correlate patient's prior imaging reports, using Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System lexicons, to categorize procedure to be performed. You will prepare patients for exams, translating procedure into layman terms to relieve patient anxiety. You will perform mammography exams according to established standards and procedures of the division, adjusting imaging equipment and operating controls to obtain correct exposure. You will assist physicians in the performance of mammographic image-guided interventional/special breast exams or procedures, including stereotactic biopsy, wire or seed implant localization, and contrast-enhanced mammography. You will perform general x-ray exams, including bone density exams, as needed. You will perform specimen imaging, when necessary, safely handling specimens and ensuring all labeling, paperwork, and imaging is sent to Pathology. You will monitor patients' conditions in accordance with technical and safety standards, recognizing and promptly reporting any motor abnormalities to Radiologists and/or nurses. You will ensure required documentation is completed throughout exams. You will operate equipment for transferring images to film and/or disc. You will ensure images are properly marked as right or left side and labeled with date and patient identification. You will enter patient history and other pertinent information obtained from requisitions into the system. You will maintain imaging equipment, making setting adjustments as needed and informing management of any mechanical issues/repair needs. You will review and maintain supply inventory in assigned areas. You will maintain cleanliness of procedure rooms. You will perform related duties as required. Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, required. New York State Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist, required. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration in Mammography, required. Minimum of 200 mammography exams performed within past 24 months, required. BLS through the American Heart Association.

When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
The salary range for this position is $45-$85/hour-
