About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to join our team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge materials and processes. As a Materials Development Scientist, you will be responsible for leading research and development efforts, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing technical guidance to ensure the successful industrialization of our ELYSIS technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute technical programs to advance the understanding of ceramic material properties and processing techniques.
  • Lead projects to develop novel electrode production processes and materials, working closely with our Elysis electrode production and industrialization teams.
  • Provide data-driven guidance for equipment and process design, ensuring a reduction in risk associated with industrialization.
  • Support the development of technical specifications for commercial-scale equipment sets, identifying and closing knowledge gaps associated with existing processes or equipment sets.
  • Apply fundamental engineering principles to practical solutions, working in laboratory, pilot, and commercial scale environments.
  • Use root cause analysis tools to provide robust and sustainable solutions to new material, process, or production issues.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements and implement innovative solutions to advance materials development goals and production initiatives.
  • Communicate progress and results through written technical reports, presentations, patents, and publications.
Mobility

As a global company with operations in Canada, France, and the United States, business-related travel and extended duration assignments or missions may be essential for the success of this role.

About You
  • Graduate degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Ceramics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience in ceramic materials or process development.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in ceramic powder synthesis, wet and dry ceramic powder processing, plastic body shape forming processes, and ceramic materials process scale-up experience.
  • Proven project execution skills.
  • Strong aptitude in physical, chemical, and thermal material property characterization methods and analysis.
  • Experience working in collaborative, results-driven, fast-paced team environments.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills for data management, analysis, and results presentation.
