About the Role

Houston Community College (HCC) is seeking a highly qualified Geology Instructor to join our team of dedicated educators. As a Geology Instructor, you will play a vital role in advancing the institution's proud tradition of excellence in academics, student life, and community service.

Responsibilities
  • Teach Geology courses to students at various sites around the city, utilizing a variety of effective methodologies and engagement activities to promote student learning.
  • Develop and implement course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments, to ensure a high-quality learning experience.
  • Provide academic advising and support to students, helping them to achieve their academic and career goals.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum, ensuring that it is aligned with industry standards and best practices.
  • Participate in departmental and institutional committees, contributing to the development of policies and procedures that support student success and faculty development.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Geology or a related field, with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Geology.
  • At least one year of college-level teaching experience, with a proven track record of success in the classroom.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of Blackboard Vista or similar online software, with the ability to utilize technology to enhance teaching and learning.
