About the Role

We are seeking a highly qualified Geology Instructor to join our team at Houston Community College. As a Geology Instructor, you will play a vital role in advancing the institution's tradition of excellence in academics, student life, and community service.

Responsibilities
  • Establish and teach courses in Geology, adhering to best practice educational standards.
  • Develop and implement engaging teaching methodologies to promote student learning.
  • Provide support and guidance to students, including opportunities for work and career development.
  • Evaluate program curricula and practices to ensure alignment with institutional goals.
  • Advise declared majors and review textbooks and learning materials to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Master's degree in Geology, with at least 18 graduate hours in the field.
  • Minimum of one year of college-level teaching experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge and skill in computer usage and software, including Blackboard Vista.
  • Good organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students in a learning-centered environment.
