Job Overview:
This position involves providing comprehensive patient care in the Surgical department at Allina Health. The role requires collaboration with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver clinical services to patients, including:
- Conducting thorough patient evaluations.
- Establishing diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests in collaboration with supervising physicians.
- Prescribing necessary medications and therapies.
- Providing education to patients regarding chronic conditions and wellness strategies.
- Making referrals to specialists as needed.
- Consulting with physicians for cases that exceed the Physician Assistant's scope of practice.
Position Details:
This is a part-time role with a .5 FTE commitment, requiring 10-hour shifts across various times of the day, including weekends on a rotating basis.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Minimum of one year of post-training experience is preferred.
- Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in Minnesota.
- ACLS and BLS certification required within a specified timeframe.
- Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants is mandatory upon hire.
- Drug Enforcement Administration registration is required upon hire.
Physical Requirements:
This role involves medium physical demands, including the ability to lift weights up to 32 lbs occasionally and up to 25 lbs frequently, in accordance with safety protocols.
