Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Scientific Operations to join our team at Kytopen. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the scientific programs and operations at our company. Your primary focus will be on establishing research and scientific priorities that align with our commercial and strategic objectives. You will work closely with our leadership team to set the strategic direction of the company and collaborate with our commercial team to support biological application development and its integration with our business model, value propositions, and product offerings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement scientific strategies to drive business growth and innovation
  • Lead a high-performing biology team to achieve scientific goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and commercialize new products and technologies
  • Establish and maintain standards, processes, and protocols for all labs and biological work across the company to ensure safety and quality
  • Support commercial and customer activity, including field applications and sales teams
  • Act as a thought leader and evangelist to drive adoption of our platform and products
  • Manage Kytopen's IP portfolio in coordination with the product development leader
  • Determine and execute strategic direction of current and future academic collaborations in coordination with the Chief Commercial Officer

Requirements:

We are looking for a highly experienced and skilled individual with a PhD in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Bioengineering) and 10+ years of experience in life sciences R&D, with 5+ years in leadership roles. You should have a strong track record of successful scientific product development and commercialization, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a collaborative approach to work. Experience with intellectual property protection and licensing, process/product characterization, and managing competing priorities and timelines is also essential.
