Job Description

Care to Stay Home is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Care Assistant to provide high-quality care to our senior clients in their homes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Personal Hygiene Assistance: Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, and oral care to ensure our clients maintain their personal hygiene and dignity.
  • Mobility Support: Provide assistance with transferring, walking, and using mobility aids such as walkers or wheelchairs to ensure our clients' safety and mobility.
  • Medication Reminders: Ensure that medications are taken on schedule and as prescribed, while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to our clients' medication management plans.
  • Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals that cater to our clients' dietary needs and preferences, and assist with eating if necessary.
  • Household Chores: Perform light housekeeping duties, such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing living spaces, to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for our clients.
  • Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage in activities to reduce feelings of loneliness, such as conversation, games, or hobbies, to promote our clients' mental and emotional well-being.
  • Errands and Transportation: Assist with grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions, and providing transportation to appointments, as needed.
  • Health Monitoring: Observe and report changes in our clients' physical or mental health to family members or healthcare providers, ensuring timely interventions and support.
  • Safety Supervision: Ensure a safe living environment by addressing potential hazards and monitoring for any signs of distress or emergencies.
  • Assistance with Daily Activities: Help with activities of daily living (ADLs), including toileting, feeding, and managing incontinence, to maintain our clients' independence and dignity.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of care provided, including notes on our clients' condition and any changes observed, to ensure continuity of care and communication with healthcare providers.
  • Communication: Serve as a liaison between our clients, their family, and other healthcare professionals, ensuring seamless communication and coordination of care.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of two years of caregiving experience: Preferably with senior clients, demonstrating a strong understanding of their unique needs and challenges.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, assist clients with various heights and weights, and perform tasks that involve client care and mobility requirements.
  • Valid Driver's License: Reliable transportation is essential for this role, ensuring timely and safe transportation of clients to appointments and activities.
  • Commitment to Care: Demonstrated commitment to providing critical and consistent care to our clients, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
  • Reliability: Ability to show up for shifts on time, ensuring continuity of care and minimizing disruptions to our clients' lives.
  • Criminal Background and Driving Record Checks: Must pass a thorough background check and driving record check, ensuring a safe and trustworthy caregiver for our clients.
