Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Echo Technician Accreditation Specialist to join our team at Methodist Hospital. As a key member of our Non-Invasive Cardiology/Neurodiagnostic Services team, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and supervising all aspects of cardiac echo and vascular imaging training for current staff members, future staff members, and students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain all ongoing documentation to support and implement departmental accreditation for both the Cardiac Ultrasound and Vascular Labs.
  • Staff for routine patient care at the direction of the Director.
  • Train all staff and students to perform at a high level of competency.
  • Maintain all patient reports, including pulling previous reports/images, presenting images to the correct reading physician, notifying reading physicians of requests, and entering proper patient charges into Meditech.
  • Stay up-to-date with technological advances in the fields of echocardiography and vascular imaging.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare field from a university, or 10 years of clinical experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a hospital setting directly working in the field of cardiac ultrasound/vascular imaging, with one year of experience in a responsible role for teaching/training students and/or new orientees.
  • Completed coursework from an accredited echo-training program, including courses in Advanced Anatomy and Physiology, and Medical Terminology.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office.
  • Registry in adult echocardiography (RCDS), with preference given to candidates with two or more registries, including pediatric echocardiography or vascular imaging.
  • CPR Certificate.
