Position SummaryCityVet - Cibolo Crossing is seeking experienced Veterinary Technician Assistants with a minimum of one year in the veterinary field to enhance our dynamic team.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Veterinary Technician Assistant (TA) plays a crucial role in ensuring outstanding patient care and operational efficiency. By assisting the Veterinary Technician (VT), the TA helps optimize their time and efforts to fulfill the needs of our clients and their pets. This position is vital in facilitating communication between the surgical team and front office staff, ensuring a seamless experience for clients.
Essential Qualifications- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum age of 18 at the time of employment
- At least one year of experience in the veterinary sector
- Ability to safely and effectively restrain animals
- Familiarity with veterinary medical terminology and medications
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs to waist height
- Frequent standing, bending, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication and listening abilities
- Self-motivated and a team player
- Assist the Veterinary Technician (VT) in preparing animals for medical, surgical, and dental procedures, including administering anesthesia and proper restraint.
- Collaborate effectively with Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians to implement patient triage protocols tailored to client and facility needs in a fast-paced environment.
- Support Veterinary Technicians with scheduled appointments, walk-ins, and urgent cases, including documenting observations and treatment plans in patient records, and assisting in medical treatments under supervision.
- Provide assistance to the Client Service Specialist team as required.
