PSU Votes Ambassador

Join the Penn State University community as a PSU Votes Ambassador and play a vital role in promoting voter education and registration among your peers.

The Community Service Federal Work-Study Program, in collaboration with Student Leadership and Involvement, seeks undergraduate and graduate students to serve as PSU Votes Ambassadors for the spring semester, summer session, and the academic year.

As a PSU Votes Ambassador, you will be responsible for educating your peers on how to register to vote, voter education, and creating a voting plan. You will also assist with planning, marketing, and implementation of PSU Votes initiatives, including researching opportunities, developing programs, and providing brief presentations and workshops.

This position requires a commitment of 10-20 hours per week, with specific days and hours to be determined upon hire. Starting pay rates for the academic year are $12.00 per hour for undergraduate students and $15.00 per hour for graduate students.

• Education and outreach: Educate peers on voter registration, voter education, and creating a voting plan.
• Event planning and implementation: Assist with planning, marketing, and implementation of PSU Votes initiatives.
• Research and development: Research opportunities, develop programs, and provide brief presentations and workshops.
• Tabling and outreach: Provide tabling support and other voter registration and education at events and locations on and off campus.

This position requires the following clearances:

• PA State Police Criminal Background Check
• PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form
• FBI Criminal Background Check

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
