Our skilled surgical teams prioritize patient-centered care, guiding you through every step of the surgical process, from preoperative assessments to updates for family members.

Our physicians specialize in diverse surgical disciplines, including general surgery, orthopaedics, obstetrics and gynecology, and emergency procedures, establishing Catholic Health Initiatives as a trusted healthcare provider in the region.

Equipped with cutting-edge technology, our surgeons utilize advanced techniques, such as laparoscopic surgery, which minimizes incisions for reduced scarring and expedited healing.

Responsibilities


We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic surgical technician with exceptional organizational skills, a compassionate demeanor, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to think swiftly in high-pressure situations.

As an integral member of the surgical team, you will anticipate the needs of both patients and surgeons to facilitate smooth operations.

Excellent communication skills, knowledge of aseptic techniques, case preparation, and infection control are essential.

The Surgical Technologist collaborates closely with surgeons and registered nurses, contributing to the safety and efficiency of surgical procedures by performing various tasks before, during, and after operations.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing the surgical room with the necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in sterile techniques, sterilization processes, and environmental controls.
  • Maintaining an organized sterile field and ensuring compliance with sterile protocols.
  • Assisting the surgeon by providing visibility of the surgical site and aiding in wound closure and dressing application.
  • Applying knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to surgical procedures.
  • Conducting accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments.
Qualifications


To qualify for this position, you must be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.

Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Center for Competency Training (NCCT) is required.

Registration as an Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) from the relevant nursing board is mandatory.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is essential.

Proficiency in aseptic principles, case preparation, and infection control is expected.

Familiarity with healthcare-related computer applications is necessary.

Effective communication skills in both written and spoken English are required.
