Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Petroleum Inspector to join our team at Intertek Caleb Brett. As a key member of our cargo inspection and analytical assessment services team, you will be responsible for conducting visual observations, volume measurements, and sampling of products contained or conveyed in lines, barge tanks, ship tanks, rail tanks, shore tanks, and other vessels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform cargo inspections and sampling of products
  • Attend movements involving line and tank transfer or displacement, lightering, and loading and unloading operations
  • Communicate and coordinate with terminal, transport, and Company personnel to promote smooth exercise of duties assigned
  • Perform and document routine equipment calibration, verification, and function checks
  • Organize and coordinate jobs so that services are rendered, and reports and samples are submitted, in a timely manner
  • Maintain work areas, records, and equipment in a clean, organized, and functional condition
  • Verify and communicate the results obtained, and to make the entries into the appropriate media, whether print or electronic, required to ensure the validity and traceability of the information
Requirements
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 1+ year inspector experience
  • TWIC
  • Valid driver's license and reliable driving record
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, enter confined spaces, and work in the elements
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 year inspector experience
  • IFIA certification
