Position Summary

The Counter Sales role at Arnold Lumber Company is an integral part of our sales team, dedicated to providing exceptional service to our customers. As a full-service lumberyard, we pride ourselves on offering a comprehensive range of building materials, masonry supplies, cabinetry, and design services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist customers at the sales counter, ensuring a welcoming and efficient service experience.
  • Process orders, handle sales transactions, and provide accurate quotes.
  • Maintain inventory organization through stocking and cycle counting.
  • Build and nurture relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by proactively engaging with customers and assisting them in their purchasing decisions.
  • Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures and cash management.
  • Utilize the POS system to check stock availability and provide product information.
  • Guide customers to the appropriate team members for specialized assistance.
  • Ensure the sales area is well-maintained and stocked with current sales materials and brochures.
  • Address customer inquiries and direct complaints to the appropriate personnel.

Additional Duties:
  • Ensure the sales counter is consistently staffed.
  • Develop product knowledge to enhance customer interactions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in assigned work areas.
  • Familiarize yourself with company policies and procedures related to sales and inventory management.
