QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE RESPITE SERVICES FACILITATOR

  • A Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related discipline
  • Experience working with families and children is preferred
  • Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations, including VBHCS Standards of Conduct and Policies

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE RESPITE SERVICES FACILITATOR

As a Respite Program Consultant, your primary focus will be on assisting families with children who experience significant emotional disturbances or dual diagnoses of SED and Autism through our Planned Respite Program. Working under the direction of the Respite Coordinator, you will create and implement planned respite activities in compliance with state and organizational guidelines. Your knowledge of social and economic challenges, family dynamics, and community resources will be essential in this role.

Your daily responsibilities will include employing a systems approach model, executing behavior management strategies, and providing training and respite services in home and community settings. You will concentrate on both the child and the family, conducting assessments, collaborating to develop Individualized Family Respite Plans (IFRP), and helping families access community respite options. Your contributions will be vital in upholding System of Care values and achieving programmatic objectives, significantly enhancing the well-being and success of the children and families served.
