Wood Procurement Specialist

The Scaler is responsible for receiving and inspecting trucks containing roundwood, chips, and bark delivered to the facility.

Key responsibilities include:

• Encoding ticket information for wood settlements
• Scaling, receiving, and shipping trucks and rail cars as directed by management
• Preparing daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and production reports for procurement and accounting
• Inspecting and weighing trucks using ISO standards
• Participating in weekly safety topics and monthly safety value exchange
• Communicating with chip mill and woodyard operators to ensure smooth truck flow and low turnaround times
• Maintaining the scale house and equipment in clean and orderly conditions

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• A High School Diploma, with a college or technical degree preferred
• 2-5 years of experience in forestry or warehouse-related fields
• Ability to understand roundwood, chip, and bark quality specifications
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Advanced knowledge of computer systems or applications a plus
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products required
