About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Fiber Splicer to join our team at Centerline. As a leading telecommunications contractor, we require professionals who can work independently and collaboratively on-site with customers, handling ISP, OSP, and aerial fiber installations.

Responsibilities
  • Advanced knowledge of multiple OSP/ISP splice enclosures by various manufacturers.
  • Ability to demonstrate responsibility for specific customer needs and undergo additional training or immersion.
  • Expertise in cable prep, single and mass fusion splicing, and termination.
  • Excellent fiber optic test and troubleshooting abilities, including fiber characterization, iOLM, and advanced documentation.
  • Strong ability to work with others, train junior technicians, and demonstrate basic crew/project management skills.
  • Basic understanding of ARC/GIS, Telvent, and Trimble software.
  • Ability to work night, weekend, and holiday shifts, including on-call responsibilities.
  • Basic understanding of splice and overlay schematics.
  • Basic OTDR, iOLM, and power meter function and operation.
  • Basic familiarity with mass fusion ribbon splicer functions.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Ability to perceive differences in colors.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Basic computer functions and ability to learn new programs.
  • Ability to make independent judgments and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Regular contact with coworkers and customers.
  • OSHA-10 Certification within 90 days of start date.
  • DOT Physical, drug screen, and background check.
  • Ability to complete entry-level safety training and demonstrate safe practices within 90 days of starting.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Ability to sit, stand, climb, kneel, bend, lift, crawl, squat, reach, and utilize both hands and feet in an aerial and underground capacity. Drive and operate a vehicle, and/or bucket. Environmental conditions: exposure to heat, cold, dust, wet, vibration, and very loud noise. Repeated and frequent ability to lift 80 lbs continuously.
