Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Fiber Splicer to join our team in Fairfield, ME. As a leading telecommunications contractor, we need professionals who can work independently and collaboratively on-site with customers, handling ISP, OSP, and aerial fiber installations.

Responsibilities:

  • Advanced cable prep/single and mass fusion splicing and termination abilities.
  • Excellent fiber optic test and troubleshooting abilities to include fiber characterization, iOLM and advanced documentation and deliverable responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to work with others and train more junior technicians and basic crew/project management abilities and responsibilities.
  • Have a basic understanding of and abilities to negotiate ARC/GIS, Telvent and Trimble software.
  • Ability to understand that to the nature of the job, travel, night, weekend, and holiday work, to include on-call responsibilities will be a requirement.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least a high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must possess the ability to perceive difference in colors.
  • Must possess and continue to possess a valid drivers license.
  • Experienced with basic computer functions, and have the ability to learn new programs.
  • Ability to make independent judgment and perform repetitive tasks.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to sit, stand, climb, kneel, bend, lift, crawl, squat, reach and utilize both hands and feet in an aerial and underground capacity. Drive and operate a vehicle, and/or bucket. Environmental conditions: exposure is heat, cold, dust, wet, vibration and very loud noise. Repeated and frequent ability to lift, from floor to above head 80 lbs continuously.
