Job SummaryThe Department of Engineering and Computer Science invites applications for a full-time position as Visiting Assistant or Associate Professor of Engineering or Computer Science. This position involves instructing undergraduates in engineering and computer science courses, maintaining an active research program, and participating in undergraduate mentoring and advising.
Responsibilities- Prepare and teach CS/CIS/ENGR courses up to 12 units per semester
- Participate in mentoring and academic advising of undergraduate students
- Participate in department and university affairs
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chair
- Integrate Christian faith in all aspects of instruction
- An earned Ph.D. in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering
- A commitment to teaching excellence in undergraduate programs
- Desire to be available on campus to mentor undergraduate students in their coursework and research
- A commitment to teaching excellence in an undergraduate, liberal arts program
- A demonstrated, vibrant Christian faith compatible with the mission of Azusa Pacific University
- Evidence of teaching excellence is desired
- Prior experience mentoring undergraduate students in technical projects and research is desired
- Prior experience in socially responsible and meaningful projects is desired
- Prior experience in integration of faith with the discipline is preferred

CompensationThe annual salary for this role is $66,560 to $125,460, and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
