About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Care Specialist to join our team at Corpus Christi Medical Center. As a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support.

What You Will Do

You will perform therapeutic measures prescribed by physicians and provide education to patients and their families about treatment options and rehabilitation techniques.

You will also coordinate unit activities, ensuring accountability for all assigned tasks and collaborating with the healthcare team to deliver exceptional care.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Nursing from an accredited institution (Associates or Bachelor of Science in Nursing)
  • A valid Registered Nurse License in Texas or a Multi-State Compact License
  • At least 12 months of experience in psychiatric nursing, although this is not mandatory
  • Certification in Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association
  • A Crisis Prevention Intervention certification within 60 days of hire

Corpus Christi Medical Center is a 630+ bed healthcare system with multiple locations in the Coastal Bend area. We offer state-of-the-art cardiovascular services, bariatric, GYN, and robotic surgery, as well as a graduate medical education program and emergency departments at various facilities.

Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this role is $85,000, based on national averages for a Registered Nurse in Texas with similar experience.
