**Job Description:**

The City of Seattle is seeking an experienced and skilled Painting Operations Manager to join its facilities maintenance team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated and organized individual to lead a small team responsible for maintaining City facilities.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the painting operations, including supervising a crew of painters, providing guidance and support, and ensuring that all work meets departmental and customer expectations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a team of painters in performing various painting tasks, including interior and exterior painting, and conducting field evaluations to ensure code compliance.
  • Developing and implementing a preventive and predictive maintenance program to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
  • Coordinating work between different trades and vendors, and providing training to employees on new techniques, material, and equipment.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:

  • Five or more years of journey-level painting experience, including prepping and painting interior sheet rock and exterior building surfaces.
  • Completion of an accredited painting apprenticeship program.
  • Proficient knowledge in MS Word, Excel, and other MS Office applications.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work in an environment with multiple projects and priorities.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
