Position Overview

The Senior Product Manager serves as a crucial link between organizational objectives and software development efforts. This role is essential in ensuring that the products developed align with the strategic goals of the company. Collaborating closely with software engineering leadership, the Senior Product Manager will focus on creating internal solutions that enhance operational efficiency through improved automation and validation of business processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and specify requirements to support software development teams effectively.
  • Document success metrics, technical specifications, and detailed functional requirements for various projects, ensuring clarity and feasibility for the development team.
  • Manage project prioritization and dependencies by:
    • Establishing value assessment standards for technical initiatives that align with business objectives.
    • Evaluating and prioritizing interconnected projects, defining implementation strategies, executing plans, and communicating outcomes to stakeholders.
    • Advocating for the significance of technical projects to non-technical stakeholders by translating technical details into business relevance.
  • Oversee product rollout and launch by:
    • Creating and updating internal support and training documentation for users.
    • Coordinating communication and integration efforts with teams that work alongside the software engineering department.
    • Establishing processes to measure success metrics post-launch of features or products.

Qualifications Required

  • A minimum of 6 years in software product management, with at least 3 years in agile environments.
  • Proficiency in SQL.
  • Experience with cloud technologies and essential components such as S3, RDS, Kafka, Airflow, Apex, and Jira.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and launching complex operational services using event-driven architecture.
  • Familiarity with databases, APIs, and multi-tier architecture.
  • A background in software engineering or application development prior to transitioning into product management.
  • Strong understanding of system design in collaboration with engineering teams, particularly for web applications.
  • Ability to analyze raw data, derive actionable insights, and present findings clearly to management and process owners.
  • Proven capability to prioritize effectively between potential and necessary initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in AdTech, logistics, or healthcare sectors.
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures.
  • Experience in content management and publishing workflows.
  • An MBA is a plus.

Success Factors

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with comfort in presenting to executive-level audiences.
