Job Description:
The Retail Manager performs and directs the overall restaurant management and day-to-day operations at Johnson C. Smith University. This includes directing staff to ensure that food safety, product preparation, and cleanliness standards are maintained; maintaining standards of restaurant safety and security; recruiting staff and overseeing training programs; and managing inventory and money control systems.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure that all local and national health and food safety codes are maintained and company safety and security policies are followed.
• Recruit, train, and manage staff as needed.
• Communicate changes in food preparation formulas, standards, etc. to staff.
• Maintain business records as outlined in the Perkins Operations Manual.
• Manage and track sales, net profit, and store business.
• Support local and national marketing initiatives.
• Identify and contact prospective customers to promote sales.
• Serve prepared food at proper portions.
• Maintain an organized and clean work area.
• Adhere to all HACCP regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage.
• Adhere to uniform policy.
• Manage and track store sales, net profit, and overall store business.
Requirements:
• A minimum of two years' experience in a restaurant environment, with experience in supervising and training staff.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Serv Safe certification.
• High school or equivalent education.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds unassisted.
• Reaching, handling, seeing, standing, walking.
