Job Summary

Volkert Inc is seeking a highly skilled Senior Drainage Project Engineer to join our team in the Southwest Region. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing stormwater management and storm drain systems, as well as soil erosion and sediment control systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze data for inclusion in project plans and reports
  • Design and develop hydrologic and hydraulic models for transportation improvement projects
  • Obtain permits from regulatory and water management agencies
  • Assist in preparing project plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • Contribute to the preparation of engineering reports and calculations for various projects
  • Prepare and review project quantity estimates, details, and check calculations and drawings
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver quality projects within budget and schedule
  • Oversee project design activities and supervise junior-level support staff
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Valid Professional Engineering (P.E.) license or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • 10+ years of experience in drainage and water resources engineering, with a focus on TxDOT projects
  • Proficiency in CAD software, including MicroStation, Geopak, and Civil3D
  • Strong knowledge of TxDOT standards and procedures
