Role Overview:
Building strong interpersonal relationships with operators and technicians is crucial for success in this role.
Analytical skills are essential to understand the broader implications of modifications on controls, systems, and processes.

Knowledge of basic electrical principles is necessary for troubleshooting control system hardware and assisting technicians with field device issues.

Proficiency in networking, particularly TCP/IP, is required.
A foundational understanding of control theory, including PID control implementation, is important.

Key Responsibilities:
Adhere to safe work practices and promote safety among colleagues.

Collaborate with technicians and engineers to troubleshoot process challenges and support project development.

Design and implement DeltaV logic for effective control and interlock strategies.
Support communication protocols such as OPC and Modbus.

Analyze process issues to identify control solutions that enhance reliability, reduce variability, and improve efficiency.

Engage with corporate IT resources to ensure accurate data collection.
Document modifications using CAD software.

Provide backup support for Process Control technicians during on-call rotations.

Train operators on new control methodologies.
Share best practices with other facilities to optimize process control resources.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or Pulp and Paper Science is required.
Minimum of 4 years in an engineering or operations role within a fully integrated pulp and paper mill or related industry experience.

Familiarity with process control systems and devices such as DCS, PLCs, and drives is essential.

Self-motivation and a desire for continuous improvement are key attributes.
