Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and perform preventative and reactive maintenance duties to ensure optimal equipment uptime.
- Direct and perform maintenance tasks, including installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems.
- Install wiring and run conduit to support electrical systems.
- Create work orders and manage spare parts inventory.
- Develop and maintain an inspection program for motors and electrical equipment.
- Test existing equipment and determine if components need to be upgraded or replaced.
- Inspect and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Repair lift trucks and other equipment to maintain maximum production rates.
- Overhaul process systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Ensure all equipment is kept in a safe and proper working condition.
- Practice proper PPE compliance and maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain facility housekeeping.
Requirements
- Basic industrial, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and pneumatic skills, including troubleshooting.
- Knowledge and experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to interpret and read electrical and mechanical drawings, schematics, and ladder diagrams.
- Basic welding skills.
- Ability to install 3-phase motors and control circuits.
- Ability to rebuild a gearbox.
- Familiarity with chillers, cooling towers, and pump skids.
- Understanding of PLC circuits.
- Experience with natural gas burners.
- Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
- High school, vocational, or technical school diploma, GED, or equivalent education preferred.
- Diesel mechanic or electrical certification a plus.
- Minimum of ten years maintenance/electrical experience in a manufacturing environment.
- PLC programming and troubleshooting abilities.
Physical Requirements
- The incumbent must possess the strength and stamina to perform medium to heavy physical work and may occasionally be exposed to dangerous machinery, extreme weather conditions, and extreme noise.
- Ability to work at varied heights and possess the ability to climb ladders.
- Ability to operate varied hand and power tools and related equipment; vision to read printed materials; color vision to identify electrical wires and pipes; finger dexterity to operate above-mentioned tools and equipment; ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb to perform work and inspect work sites; ability to lift, move, and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds and heavier weights with the use of proper equipment.
