Compensation for our Educators ranges from $28.11 to $31.73 per hour, based on educational qualifications and experience in Early Childhood Education or a related discipline.

Foster a secure and supportive atmosphere for children that promotes their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. Develop and execute age-appropriate educational programs in alignment with the standards set by Bright Horizons and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Integrate Bright Horizons' mission, culture, objectives, values (HEART Principles), philosophies, policies, and the cultivation of an inclusive setting. Collaborate with supervisors on critical decisions and nurture positive relationships with parents/guardians, children, and colleagues. Ensure the safety and supervision of children at all times by fulfilling the physical requirements of the role.

Engagement with Children
  • Interact regularly, warmly, and respectfully with children through smiles, gentle touches, and supportive gestures. Communicate in a friendly, calm, and courteous manner while being close to the child.
  • Observe and respect children's interests, intervening as necessary to maintain safety. Enrich children's play with language, toys, and activities.

Curriculum Development
  • Implement a curriculum that is developmentally appropriate, reflecting observations and assessments of individual children, along with goals collaboratively established with parents/guardians.
  • Create an environment that caters to children's individual developmental stages, physical and emotional needs, and current interests by consulting relevant Bright Horizons resources.
  • Provide a variety of suitable materials and activities that promote social skills and encourage children to think critically, solve problems, ask questions, and experiment.
  • Encourage a positive self-image by supporting individuality, independence, and decision-making skills.
Creative Expression
  • Demonstrate respect for diversity by using anti-bias, non-sexist language, images, and experiences that reflect both local and global communities.
  • Organize a daily schedule that balances various activities: quiet/active, indoor/outdoor, fine/gross motor, etc.
  • Plan and execute child-centered, self-initiated activities while minimizing large group, staff-led activities.
  • Offer multiple options for group activities and maintain flexibility in adapting planned activities based on children's interests.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education is required.

Enrollment in a Master's Degree program in Early Childhood Education is preferred.

Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred.

Experience
  • Must meet state experience requirements for Teacher; 12 months of professional teaching experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate curriculum practices.
