Key Responsibilities

Peraton is in search of a Systems Integration & Test Engineer - Automation to provide support for our Space Force client. The SWAFS initiative is transitioning legacy functionalities into the AWS cloud while consistently enhancing existing capabilities for legacy applications and users. The Systems Integration & Test Engineer - Automation will play a pivotal role in merging legacy tools with innovative functionalities derived from extensive environmental science and celestial research, aimed at improving immediate awareness and risk assessment for DOD Infrastructure and Systems, thereby advancing Space Weather Forecasting capabilities.

What You Will Do:
  • Analyze customer requirements and technical limitations to formulate solutions for system integration, testing, evaluation, and transition of systems at the enterprise level. Manage labor, timelines, and resources for these activities.
  • Establish and uphold standards, practices, and procedures for integration, testing, and evaluation.
  • Assess system architectures, designs, and requirements for integration implications.
  • Design, implement, and supervise testing and evaluation strategies to guarantee system dependability.
  • Derive and assess testability requirements, ensuring enterprise capabilities meet established standards.
  • Create verification methodologies and customer acceptance criteria.
  • Lead thorough test and evaluation planning and execution, collaborating with other teams.
  • Evaluate readiness for system integration, testing, evaluation, and transition activities.
  • Examine test data and propose modifications to testing processes, configurations, or requirements.
  • Implement testing protocols and ensure compliance with established procedures.
  • Generate reports for each testing activity and monitor metrics.
  • Analyze system performance and compile evaluation reports and risk assessments.
  • Conduct integration regression testing and validate corrections.
  • Provide direct client support during integration, testing, and evaluation.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and regularly report findings to management.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • This role necessitates US citizenship with the capability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Associate degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience; OR a minimum of 8 years with a Bachelor's degree; OR a minimum of 6 years with a Master's degree. Four (4) years of additional experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • Proven experience in software development using JavaScript.
  • Experience in automated testing is essential, with practical experience emphasizing automation over manual or paper-based testing methods.
  • Demonstrated experience with software testing tools such as:
    • Selenium
    • Nightwatch
    • GitLab/Git-Ops/Auto-build test pipelines
  • Experience working exclusively within the Atlassian Suite of Tools, including Jira and Confluence.
  • Previous experience in leading diverse, multidisciplinary testing teams, overseeing the development, maintenance, and implementation of testing strategies.
  • Ability to plan, execute, and provide feedback on test objectives, plans, outcomes, discrepancies, tool evaluations, and metrics.
  • Proficiency in leading teams across various domains, including Agile, DevSecOps, Pipeline management, Systems Integration, Systems Engineering, and Hardware/Software Testing.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Experience in Space Operations (DoD or Commercial) is highly preferred.
  • Experience with formal, large systems integration and testing, ACAT-III programs and higher.
  • Experience in fast-paced software development, including rapid deployment, quick releases, 3-week sprint cycles, and continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Previous experience in software development with languages such as JAVA, Python, C#, C++.
  • Experience with Cloud Enterprise deployment (hardware, software, multi-functional system-of-systems) is highly desired.
