An exciting opportunity awaits for a skilled Fire Alarm Systems Installation Specialist to join Johnson Controls International plc. as part of our dynamic team.

Estimated salary: $75,000 - $90,000 per annum.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for executing installation project plans, including equipment delivery and collaboration with other trades to exceed customer expectations.

  • Apply specialized skills and knowledge in fire alarm systems installation.
  • Troubleshoot issues and resolve problems through research and effective communication.
  • Serve as a team leader, allocating work and checking on completion or quality.
  • Demonstrate supervisory and leadership abilities, including training, team building, and negotiation skills.
  • Perform and/or support the installation of fire-related and/or other building systems products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
  • Program low voltage systems, including fire alarm, nurse call, access control, security, CCTV, and clocks.
  • Identify out-of-scope requests and communicate effectively with customers and management.
  • Assist customers with questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Effectively communicate project status to management.
  • Complete all necessary Company paperwork.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Actively pursue NICET II certification within the first year of employment.
  • Knowledge of code officials and ability to arrange for personnel licensing, building permits, and discuss intended wiring methods.
  • Experience in meetings with contractors and owners.
  • Ability to coordinate project activities with other trades at work locations to optimize installation time.
  • Proficiency in industry-related equipment, including MS Office.
  • Obtain necessary certifications or licenses as required.
  • Excellent communication skills, using tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers.
  • Able to work in unusual positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 60 feet.
  • Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools.
