Executive Chef Opportunity at New York Institute of Technology

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to join our team at the NYIT de Seversky Mansion, a premier catering center located on the campus of New York Institute of Technology in Old Westbury. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation and presentation, ensuring exceptional quality and service to our clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement menus that are seasonal, creative, and cost-effective
  • Oversee production of food and proper display for events such as weddings, social events, and business conferences
  • Manage kitchen staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations
  • Conduct private tastings for potential and booked clients
  • Collaborate with the Director of Dining Services to achieve culinary goals and objectives
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as an Executive Chef or in a similar leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and safety protocols
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and other culinary software
