New York Institute of Technology is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to lead the culinary team at the NYIT de Seversky Mansion, a premier catering center located on the campus of New York Tech in Old Westbury. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the culinary operation, including menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement menus that are seasonal, creative, and cost-effective
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of food for events, including weddings, social events, and business conferences
- Manage a team of culinary staff, including cooks, utility/prep cooks, and servers
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Collaborate with the Director of Dining Services to achieve culinary goals and objectives
- Stay up-to-date with food trends and market prices to ensure optimal food cost management
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or in a similar leadership role
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and safety
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and other culinary software
