Job Title: ELA Teacher

We are seeking a highly qualified and passionate English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher to join our team at KIPP NYC Public Schools. As an ELA Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic excellence and social growth for our students.

Job Summary:

The ELA Teacher will design and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with varying learning styles, abilities, and cultural backgrounds. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum that aligns with New York State Standards and promotes critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver high-quality ELA lessons that cater to the needs of all students
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs
  • Develop and maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment that promotes social-emotional learning and academic achievement
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure student success
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay current with best practices in ELA education
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field
  • New York State teacher certification in ELA or a related area
  • At least two years of teaching experience, preferably in an urban setting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
