As a Social Services Surveyor with the Health & Human Services Comm, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of residents in Texas long-term care facilities. Your responsibilities will include conducting on-site inspections and investigations to assess compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct on-site inspections and investigations to assess compliance with state and federal laws and regulations
  • Communicate clearly and accurately with facility staff and other stakeholders to provide information and resolve issues
  • Complete inspection reports detailing deficiencies and recommended remedies
  • Visit facilities to verify correction of previously cited regulatory violations
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of documents prepared by others
Requirements:
  • Must be professionally qualified as a social worker by the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners
  • Must successfully obtain Surveyor Minimum Qualification within the first year of employment
  • Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Ability to work independently and exercise professional judgment
