Key Responsibilities:

  • Safe Transport: Efficiently operate assigned Peterbilt 579 Ultralofts to deliver reefer freight, primarily pork, while adhering to all safety regulations and company protocols.
  • Truck Maintenance: Oversee the upkeep of your assigned vehicle, which includes automatic transmission, APUs, refrigerators, and power inverters. Ensure the truck is in peak condition and report any maintenance needs promptly.
  • Customer Interaction: Deliver outstanding service by ensuring timely and precise freight delivery. Proactively address any issues or delays and maintain clear communication with dispatch and clients.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Follow all federal and state transportation regulations related to reefer equipment. Maintain accurate logs and documentation as required.
  • Professional Representation: Uphold the company’s reputation by demonstrating professionalism and integrity while on the road. Build positive relationships with customers, dispatch, and fellow drivers.

Qualifications:

  • CDL-A License: Must possess a valid CDL-A license with a clean driving history.
  • Experience: Prior experience with reefer freight is preferred, along with the ability to manage reefer equipment and understand temperature control protocols.
  • Physical Capability: Must be physically fit to perform the duties required, including extended hours of driving and freight handling.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to be on the road for extended periods, with the ability to adapt to varying routes and schedules.
  • Safety Focused: A strong dedication to safety and adherence to all transportation regulations and company policies.
  • Customer Service Skills: Excellent communication abilities and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Pay Rate: $0.62 per mile (includes $0.10 per mile per diem)
  • Home Time: 2 weeks on the road, with one day at home for each week worked. Option to extend to 3 weeks.
  • Vacation: 1 week in the first year, increasing to 2 weeks in the second year.
  • Pet Policy: Dogs up to 60 lbs allowed; $75 a week, up to $750.
  • Rider Policy: Must be at least 6 years old; $16 a month.
