At Houston Methodist, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Assistant to join our team. As a PCA, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and services under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
Responsibilities:- Conduct hourly rounding to ensure patient needs are met and record data established by policy and procedure.
- Assist with patient elimination, hygiene, comfort, safety, nutrition, and progress activity.
- Report observations and patient problems to the licensed nurse.
- Participate in teamwork by responding positively to requests for assistance and promoting a positive work environment.
- High School diploma or equivalent education.
- Must complete one of the following: PCA externship, PCA internal internship, six months of direct patient care experience, or enrolled in a school of nursing program with a completed first clinical rotation.
- BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA) and CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant - State Licensure (for Skilled Nursing Facility/SNF/Rehab departments only).
