Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Cardiac Device Specialist to join our team at Highmark Health. As a key member of our cardiology practice, you will be responsible for providing longitudinal care to patients with implanted rhythm management devices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate cardiac diagnostic equipment to provide cardiac diagnostic studies on devices.
  • Analyze and reprogram all cardiac devices with various programs based on findings under the direction of a physician.
  • Perform independent quarterly transtelephonic device checks.
  • Maintain knowledge of advanced ECG interpretation.
  • Prepare patients for all interrogation exams and maintain awareness of their comfort and safety needs.
  • Function as a primary liaison between patients, staff, and physicians.
  • Conduct family and patient education for pacemakers/ICDs.
Qualifications
  • Minimum: Associates degree and three or more years of related experience and training.
  • BLS certification with AED training.
  • ACLS certification within the first year.
  • Certification with the International Board of Heart and Rhythm Examiners by the Heart Rhythm Society.
  • 3 years of experience in electrophysiology or equivalent device experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of cardiac rhythms and interpretation.
