Child Development Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Child Development Specialist to join our team at the Florida United Methodist Children's Home. This is a full-time, hourly position working Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm in Enterprise, FL.
CompensationThe estimated annual salary for this position is $43,000 - $55,000 depending on experience, with benefits including competitive insurance plans, work-life balance, retirement benefits, and more.
Job DescriptionThis role is responsible for guiding and nurturing the development and learning of students and families. The ideal candidate will provide a prepared environment, facilitate activity transitions, and observe students constantly to develop individual learning plans.
The Child Development Specialist will use a daily schedule based on prescribed Montessori ideals, function as a reference person and exemplar for students, and assist with staff development and training. They will maintain knowledge of state elementary expectations for kindergarten readiness and implement the program according to policies, procedures, schedules, scope, and sequence.
Responsibilities- Consistently strive to meet customer service responsibilities, guiding and nurturing student development, and providing a prepared environment.
- Use a daily schedule based on Montessori ideals, functioning as a reference person and exemplar for students.
- Assist with staff development and training, maintaining knowledge of state elementary expectations.
- Implement the program according to policies, procedures, schedules, scope, and sequence.
- Supervise lesson plan content to meet program goals and individual needs of children.
- Place material orders when necessary and plan activities with teachers to gear the program to individual child needs.
- Keep a personal log as a reference for teacher needs, concerns, program requirements, and problems.
- Involve parents in the program and maintain constant supervision of students.
