Asset Manager Job Description

MFM Search LLC is seeking an experienced Asset Manager to join their dynamic real estate team. This role will involve overseeing and managing various multifamily real estate investments with the goal of optimizing asset values.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Strategy Development: Develop property and portfolio level operational strategies, analyzing performance, capital projects, and other relevant investment factors that impact asset values.
  • Annual Business Planning: Coordinate, review, present, and execute comprehensive annual business plans and budgets.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare quarterly reports and financial statements.
  • Valuation and Due Diligence: Assist in the review of valuation models, participate in the acquisition and disposition process, and support due diligence efforts for select investments as needed.
  • Asset Transition: Manage the takeover of new assets and ensure a smooth and successful transition into the portfolio.
  • Third-Party Coordination: Communicate with third-party property management, appraisers, brokers, insurance, and real estate tax consultants, and other third-party service providers.
  • Market Expertise: Be an expert for each market where fund assets are situated, focusing on competing institutional apartment communities, the development delivery pipeline, and other macro- and microeconomic factors that impact portfolio performance.
  • Lender Compliance: Coordinate and facilitate lender compliance with third-party property management regarding debt covenants, providing financial information and monitoring the release of escrow accounts.
  • Property Visits: Visit all properties within the portfolio on a regular basis to coordinate efforts with third-party property managers.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Real Estate, Finance, or Accounting.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in multifamily and/or commercial real estate, required. Asset Management experience preferred.
