We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Health Services Specialist I to join our team at Planned Parenthood Mar Monte. As a key member of our health center staff, you will provide direct patient care, perform lab testing, and contribute to achieving health center productivity goals.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including sexual and reproductive health services, abortion, prenatal care, and family medicine.
- Screen patients for financial, medical, and social history, and document pertinent information accurately.
- Contribute to achieving health center productivity goals and demonstrate PPMM customer service standards.
- Perform lab testing, including pregnancy tests, STI/HIV testing, and phlebotomy/venipuncture.
- Prepare daily patient lab samples for transfer to appropriate labs and maintain lab logs.
- Check refrigerator temperatures, clean instruments and exam rooms, and autoclave as assigned.
- Provide patients with accurate information regarding Planned Parenthood services and solicit donations as needed.
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- Ability to communicate sensitive information across diverse backgrounds
- General knowledge of Windows-based computer applications and willingness to learn new computer skills
- Ability to work in a busy environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously
This position requires the ability to work at nearby PPMM locations as needed and to work nights and weekends as required.
