Key Responsibilities- Interpret and Fill Drug Orders: Accurately interpret and fill drug orders, ensuring that patients receive the correct medications and dosages.
- Provide Patient Information and Counseling: Provide patients with clear and concise information about their medications, including potential side effects, interactions, and contraindications.
- Act as Alternate Store Leader: In the absence of the Pharmacy Manager, you will be responsible for managing the ongoing functions of the pharmacy, including supervising pharmacy technicians and ensuring the smooth operation of the store.
- Contact and Confer with Physicians: Communicate with physicians regarding questions or irregularities on prescriptions, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care.
- Dispense Prescriptions and Compound Medications: Dispense prescriptions and compound medications as needed, ensuring that patients receive the correct medications and dosages.
- Monitor Drug Therapy: Monitor patients' medication records and ensure that they are receiving the best possible care, including monitoring for contraindications, interactions, and allergies.
- Supervise Pharmacy Technicians: Supervise and train pharmacy technicians in the routine performance of their duties, ensuring that they are providing the highest level of service to our customers.
- Provide Drug Information: Provide drug information to professional staff and patients as necessary, ensuring that they have the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their care.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or Pharm.D. from an approved school of pharmacy and registration by the state board of licensure.
- Clear/Active Licensed to Practice Pharmacy in Arizona: Must be clear/active licensed to practice pharmacy in Arizona.
- One-Year Experience as a Practicing Pharmacist: One-year experience as a practicing pharmacist is preferred.
- Knowledge of Drugs and Their Indications: Knowledge of drugs and their indications, contraindications, dosing, side effects, and proper administration.
- Ability to Communicate Technical Information: Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
- Knowledge of Policies and Regulations: Knowledge of policies and regulations pertaining to the disbursement of pharmaceutical drugs.
- Ability to Maintain Quality, Safety, and/or Infection Control Standards: Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
- Ability to Supervise and Train Assigned Staff: Ability to supervise and train assigned staff.
- Knowledge of Related Accreditation and Certification Requirements: Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements (if applicable).
- Skill in the Use of Personal Computers and Related Software Applications: Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
- Ability to Assume Essential Responsibilities and Duties: Ability to assume essential responsibilities and duties in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager.
