Physician and Surgeon, Correctional Facility

The State of California is seeking a highly skilled Physician and Surgeon to join our team at the Central California Women's Facility. As a key member of our correctional healthcare team, you will provide medical care to patients in a correctional facility, performing medical assessments and providing medical treatment as appropriate and authorized by medical license. You will also provide clinical consultation to midlevel providers and other staff, instructing nursing and other clinical staff on medical protocols and adhering to professional medical standards of care.

- Provide clinical consultation to midlevel providers and other staff.
- Instruct nursing and other clinical staff on medical protocols.
- Adhere to professional medical standards of care.
- Perform on-call duties as assigned.
- Possession of the legal requirements for the practice of medicine in California as determined by the Medical Board of California or the California Board of Osteopathic Examiners.
- Possession of a valid internal medicine or family medicine Medical or Osteopathic Specialty Certificate issued by an American Medical Specialty Board or an American Osteopathic Specialty Board; or admissibility to an internal medicine or family medicine Specialty examination as evidenced by a written statement from the Secretary of the American Board of Family Medicine or the Secretary of the American Board of Internal Medicine.

- Possession of the legal requirements for the practice of medicine in California as determined by the Medical Board of California or the California Board of Osteopathic Examiners and possession of a valid certificate issued by an American Medical Specialty Board or an American Osteopathic Board as a specialist in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
