Job Title: Seasonal Ambassador

At Ambassador Hotel Wichita, we are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Seasonal Ambassador to join our team. As a Seasonal Ambassador, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing exceptional quality and service to ensure a memorable experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor guests entering and exiting the dining area, greeting them with a smile and ensuring a seamless experience.
  • Manage the waitlist and seating chart, communicating with guests and staff to ensure a smooth flow.
  • Utilize Open Table to take reservations, review the daily reservation book, and seat guests without reservations.
  • Provide exceptional guest service, responding promptly to guest requests and preferences.
  • Direct the seating rotation to ensure a smooth workflow, balancing customer flow among service stations.
  • Oversee the general functioning of the dining room, relaying information to service personnel and making adjustments as needed.
  • Answer the dining room telephone, take reservations, and take messages for staff.
  • Handle guest service issues in an immediate and gracious manner, reporting situations to the Restaurant Manager on Duty.
  • Complete table checks, operate the cash register, and reconcile cash till at the start and close of shift.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the workstation and surrounding areas.
  • Ensure someone is always present at the host stand.
  • Communicate guest preferences to the service team verbally and through printed chits.
  • Notify management of possible seating delays.
  • Assist with server and bus person duties, such as securing food or beverage items for patrons.
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 16 years old (at least 21 years old to serve alcoholic beverages).
  • Previous experience as a server preferred.
  • Must successfully complete the restaurant's training course.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred or currently enrolled in secondary education completion.
  • At least 1 year of experience with restaurant or customer service experience.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to walk and stand throughout an eight-hour shift.
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Ability to lift, balance, and carry large, oval Dining Room service trays.
  • Must have the ability to lift trays, soiled dish bins, etc., of up to 40 pounds in weight.
