Job Title: Postdoctoral Fellow

The University of Alabama is seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team in the Department of Community Medicine and Population Health. As a Postdoctoral Fellow, you will have the opportunity to work on innovative, community-based participatory research projects that aim to improve population health and address community health problems.

Job Summary:

The Postdoctoral Fellow will provide an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the PhD or other doctoral degree under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee. The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. degree in Translational Research or a related field and demonstrate a record of academic achievement in research.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct independent and collaborative research projects related to community medicine and population health.
  • Develop and implement research designs, collect and analyze data, and disseminate research findings through publications and presentations.
  • Work as a part of an interdisciplinary team of researchers at the College of Community Health Sciences (CCHS) to plan and design research and creative projects.
  • Assist in both short-term and long-term planning and project goals, as well as in research and creative proposals and dissemination of project findings.
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. degree in Translational Research or a related field.
  • Background in population research, clinical investigation, and implementation science.
  • Experience conducting research projects and developing scholarly products such as manuscripts and conference presentations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience conducting research projects relating to community medicine and population health.
