Job Title: Solar Energy Instructor Part-Time

College of the Desert is seeking a qualified instructor to teach solar energy courses on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will have a strong background in solar energy and the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to students.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement instruction for solar energy courses
  • Meet classes and laboratories on assigned days and times
  • Develop and distribute course syllabi and instructional materials
  • Evaluate student progress and assign grades
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field
  • Two years of professional experience in solar energy or a related field
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or higher in a related field
  • Experience teaching solar energy courses
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and instructional design
Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $71.67 - $79.36 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. The College of the Desert offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as retirement savings and paid time off.
